The Home Stretch
After a slow start on Ugly Sock #2 on Thursday night, I am on the home stretch. (My husband caught me knitting on Friday evening and snapped a picture when I was not looking.) Since then, I have turned my heel and am now working on the gusset. I cannot wait for these to be finished! I already have my next two sock patterns picked out…plus my cocoon scarf…plus my red shawl (not yet seen here). I made mistakes on both the scarf and the shawl and have to frog several rows of each. I really should stop knitting late at night…or drink more coffee to keep myself awake.Â
I have also been invited to a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on Saturday, but I do not really have any hats except for the it’s-cold-and-snowing kind…and it reached 102 degrees here on Saturday. I did not think that a winter hat would work with me being anything less than miserable, so I have decided to make this Flapper Cloche to wear. Why buy or borrow a hat from someone else when I knit? I only hope the hat is not too warm for summer. Maybe I can knit it up in a cotton or bamboo, rather than wool.
I also want to take this opportunity to wish Pink a happy birthday, she turns 19 today!
[...] And my ugly sock…is still ugly. I am almost finished, I just have to finish the instep and toe. [...]
